15/05/2024 Cabo Verde – Working under the One FAO unified vision, the South-South and Triangular Cooperation Division (PST) and the Office of Communication (OCC) of FAO embarked on a joint mission to Cabo Verde, to shed light on the success stories of some of the key development actors benefitting from an FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) project in Cabo Verde.
Boosting capacity development to support agrifood systems is vital to strengthen food and nutrition security. This is especially true for Small Island Developing States such as Cabo Verde.

10/05/2024 Netherlands – The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), The Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Saskatchewan University, the Ministry of Agriculture of Bangladesh and European Union, gathered this week in the WUR Campus, to discuss the future of agriculture in Bangladesh.
A wide range of topics were discussed, such as agrifood systems transformation, sustainable development, boosting national productivity, improving supply chains, mechanization, training and capacity development.

22 March 2024 Freetown -The Government of Sierra Leone and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have today signed an agreement through a Unilateral Trust Fund (UTF) that marks a pivotal step towards transforming the rice sector in the country.
The UTF funding modality allows developing and middle-income countries to benefit from FAO’s technical expertise through funds provided by the beneficiary countries themselves, either from national resources or from the proceeds of loans, credits and grants made available by international financial institutions (IFIs) or bilateral resource partners.
