04/05/2026 FAO

This FAO international advanced course on fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) has been designed to strengthen the capacity of fisheries inspectors and national officials to perform their tasks. It is meant to assist professionals in the field with a wider and a more complete understanding of the provisions of the FAO Agreement on Port State Measures (PSMA) and complementary international instruments to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing. The course also provides extensive practical training. Lectures and practical sessions are delivered by experts from FAO, national authorities and guest lecturers. This course forms part of the FAO Fisheries Global Training Programme (GTP) under the Global Capacity Development Programme in support of the implementation of the PSMA and complementary international instruments.
