FAO in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia joined the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in 1948 as a founding member of the Organization. The cooperation between FAO and Saudi Arabia began in 1950 with an official agreement. Over the years, this positive collaboration culminated in the signing of the first Unilateral Trust Fund (UTF) agreement in 1981, through which the government allocated funds to FAO for technical assistance projects supporting the Ministry’s goals.
