Join us for a discussion on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Food security and nutrition are crucial to SDG2 - Zero Hunger, and are connected to other SDGs such as poverty eradication, health, responsible consumption, and sustainability. SIDS face challenges including structural and environmental vulnerabilities, unhealthy diets, and food insecurity, resulting in high rates of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) like diabetes and obesity. Urgent action is necessary, especially with climate change worsening these issues. This event is part of the SIDS Solutions Dialogue series by FAO Liaison Offices in Brussels, Geneva, and New York, along with the FAO office of SIDS, LDCs, and LLDCs, and the FAO Nutrition Dialogue Series by FAO Geneva and the FAO's Food and Nutrition Division. It is a crucial step towards the 4th UN SIDS Conference in Antigua and Barbuda in May 2024.
