South-South and Triangular Cooperation Gateway

FAO–China SSC Projects: Transforming SIDS Agrifood Systems & Advancing GIAHS Phase II.

FAO has embraced South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) as a key delivery modality to catalyze agricultural development, food security, rural development, poverty reduction and nutrition over the past two decades. Agrifood systems are changing—and must change—through innovation and preservation.

Through FAO–China South‑South Cooperation, countries connect proven solutions with real needs. Today, that collaboration advances: climate‑smart technologies and stronger policies empower SIDS farmers and communities, while enhanced value chains and blue transformation build resilience. At the same time, GIAHS Phase II strengthens governance, knowledge exchange and national capacities to safeguard agricultural heritage worldwide.

Two global projects, one goal: transforming agrifood systems and protecting heritage, together.
