Better seeds, higher yields: enhancing Kazakhstan’s sunflower oil sector

FAO and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) worked together in Kazakhstan to review the sunflower oil sector and help increase sunflower yields by providing technical assistance and facilitating relationships between the oilseed processing industry and local farmers. The combination of technical expertise and the utilization of sunflower seed hybrids has the potential to increase yields in spite of environmental limitations in the region. This video provides an overview of the project.
