Forest tenure reform in China: results and lessons from the EU-SFA-FAO China Forest Tenure Project

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) has released a report highlighting the results of a FAO, European Union (EU), and Government of China project on land tenure reform in China. This project supported the reform of forest tenure in China’s collective forests through strengthening policies, laws and institutions responsible for the management of collective forests in six pilot provinces. Funded by the European Commission (EC) and implemented by the State Forestry Administration of China (SFA) and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the project also promoted the exchange of knowledge and experiences on forest tenure reform both within China and with other countries.
