FAO has worked to improve tenure arrangements since its founding in 1945. A wide range of specialized and technical information resources is available to support the development and implementation of policies related to tenure, as well as research. Other information resources support advocacy efforts and capacity development.

Information resources can be downloaded for the different thematic areas of land tenure, fisheries tenure and forest tenure. Other thematic areas of tenure cover gender, indigenous peoples, the right to food and legal aspects.
