The Metropolitan District of Quito (DMQ), the capital of Ecuador, seeks greater food sovereignty and sustainability of its territories. In the years 2016-2017, Quito implemented a diagnosis of its food system in the context of the program 'Understanding the city-regional food system: Planning for a more resilient and food-secure city' carried out by the RUAF Foundation and FAO with funding from the Carasso Foundation and the German Government.
