FAO at the 8th Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Global Forum

The Milan Urban Food Policy Pact Global Forum (MUFPP), taking place in Rio de Janeiro from 17 to 20 October, is exploring how food systems can be a powerful leverage to achieve a fairer world, creating a space for cities and local governments to turn their challenges into solutions, for a more sustainable and inclusive future.

The 8th MUFPP Forum is hosting several sessions focused on urban food systems, co-organized by FAO and other relevant partners.

Monday 17 October

Building climate resilience and justice in city region food systems today

Organized by: FAO, RUAF and CIRAD

Experiences from: Antananarivo (Madagascar), Nairobi (Kenya), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Tel Aviv (Israel)

City to city cooperation: Lessons, opportunities, and challenges to implement inclusive governance for resilient food system policies in intermediary cities

Organized by: FAO, ICLEI, Rikolto, Instituto Comida do Amanha

The panel will include experience from different cities: Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Bandung (Indonesia), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Peñaflor (Chile), Canelones (Uruguay), Quito (Ecuador), Quelimane (Mozambique), Nairobi (Kenya), Recife (Brazil), Santa Ana (Costa Rica), Lima and Huancayo (Peru).
