The U.S. Senate passed a resolution last night celebrating the designation of 2026 as ‘International Year of the Woman Farmer.’ 

In this context of growing global mobilization, the Parliament of MERCOSUR (PARLASUR) has taken a historic step by officially issuing Declaration 09/2026 on the International Year of the Woman Farmer, formally recognizing the Year as a matter of institutional interest.

Training and dialogue in East Nusa Tenggara province mark the first FARE project activity, placing women farmers at the centre of sustainable agrifood systems.

The FAOSTAT Gender in Agrifood Systems Domain was launched on Wednesday in fulfilments of its commitment under the Commit to Grow Equality initiative. It also serves as a key contribution to the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026.
