Land for Life Youth Social Media Activist Challenge

30/08/2016

The  secretariat of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)  recognizes  that  young people play an evident role in shaping the future particularly in achieving 2030 Sustainable Development Goals related to natural resources conservation. We will need a stronger and active voice from  young  people  and  also  greater  awareness  of this group to engage themselves  in  spreading  the  message  of  the importance and benefits of conserving  and  restoring  our  natural  resources.  Therefore,  the UNCCD secretariat partnering with Future Forest organize the “Land for Life Youth Social  Media  Activists  Challenge: Are You the ONE?” to promote the cause and at the same time recognizes the initiative of such young people who are currently  active  promoting  such  engagement through social media and /or similar social platforms i.e. blogs or community website.

The  Challenge  is  looking for dedicated young people (aged between 16 and 40), who are actively promoting the conservation and restoration of natural resources  via social media. The submission for the challenge opens now and ends  on  31  October  2016.  We  invite  all  young  and  active people to participate  in  this Challenge and stand a chance to be recognized as Land for  Life Youth Social Media Activist by the UNCCD secretariat for a period of  ONE  year  and  also  being  sponsored  to an International Youth Event co-organized  with  Future  Forest.
