3rd Webinar - Organic Matter Management Webinar Series
Options to contribute to sustainable production systems and the SDGs
7 September 2023 | 14:30-16:00 (CEST)

The consensus on the urgent need for a global transition to agrifood systems that ensure food and nutrition security for all, while reversing environmental degradation and adapting to climate change was ratified at the UN food systems summit in 2021. It was also recognized that tackling such transitions requires a long-term perspective and holistic approaches, such as agroecology, which is increasingly acknowledged for its potential to meet the SDGs.
The webinar will focus on complementary perspectives of organic matter management as a key driver to redesign of agrifood systems to achieve sustainable agriculture and the SDGs. It will illustrate the spectrum of options for organic matter management and discuss their potential to optimize food production, reduce pollution and sanitation challenges, contribute to healthier livelihoods, mitigate and adapt to climate change, while protecting and restoring the environment. The webinar will feature a moderated panel discussion with expert speakers bringing in a range of perspectives on organic matter management, including research, advisory services, and policy.
Interpretation to French and Spanish will be provided. |
