Biopreparations for the sustainable management of pests and diseases in urban and peri-urban agriculture

The Guide "Biopreparations for the sustainable management of pests and diseases in urban and peri-urban agriculture" focuses on the use of a wide range of biostimulants/rooters, bio fungicides, bioinsecticides, bio-repellents/bio-fertilizers made from low-cost and simple ingredients for farmers and their families. It includes 34 bio preparations tested in urban and peri-urban gardens and estates, which were generously contributed by the institutions and urban farmers attending the Regional Call organized by the Promotion of Sustainable Development (IPES, for its acronym in Spanish) and FAO-RLC.

This publication is part of the series of " Cómo Hacerlo (Do it Right)?" guides for urban farmers prepared by the IPES - Promotion of Sustainable Development (Peru), the “Global Partnership on Sustainable Urban Agriculture and Food Systems RUAF Foundation” (Netherlands) and FAO in its Sub-Regional Office for South America. This guide is aimed primarily at urban farmers but can also be used by government and NGO technicians, leaders of social organizations, and the public.
