Circular economy in Indonesian agricultural sector

This document presents the concept of the circular economy in the field of agriculture in Indonesia, linking sustainable development, circularity, and the agricultural sector, using innovative case studies.

The circular economy is an economic approach that aims to reduce both the use of raw material in the production chain and the waste generated from it. It is based on principles of sustainable production, by reusing waste to create new products, reducing the pollution or environmental impact of production and regenerating natural systems.  With this document, the authors would like to advocate for more attention to food and organic waste, coming from households, processing facilities (of raw materials) and mills, or directly from the agriculture sector.
