National programme on plant protection is a priority

On November 17, ENPARD ‘Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture’ project organized a round table discussion on ‘Results of the study on the current state of plant protection and existing problems in RA and activities, necessary for the development of national programme on Integrated Pest Management.'

As agreed during the discussion, back in May of this year, the project undertook developing national programme on plant protection, and as the first step a comprehensive study was conducted to assess the current state of plant protection and existing problems in the country. The national experts Hrant Terlemezyan and Armenak Ter-Grigoryan presented the study results. Later, the draft version of the manual on ‘Integrated management of diseases and pests, widely spread in Armenia’ was presented to specialists for their feedback.

Representatives of RA Ministry of Agriculture, Agrarian University, non-governmental organizations, ASCs and other stakeholders discussed further steps necessary for development of the national programme
