Hi. My name is Tom Franklin. My most recent job was Senior Policy Adviser on HIV and AIDS at UNICEF. I am interested in pushing the HIV/AIDS community to make much more use of the phone, not only for treatment compliance, epidemiological surveillance and the dissemination of AIDS messages, but also as a means of putting people affected by HIV and AIDS together so that they can develop their own solutions. I am also interested in addressing the inequalities between men and women as part of the challenge facing development initiatives in whatever sector they are. This being an agricultural forum, I am sure that the distribution of duties, labour and income between men and women will receive the attention they deserve - though I will believe it when I see it! :)
