Training on the modernization of irrigation systems in Menia

Menia, Egypt - The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) team co-organized with Regional Training Center for Water Resources and Irrigation “RCTWS”, a training targeting two groups of farmers from Menia under the "Enhancing Agriculture Water Productivity Project" funded by Japan. The training focused on management and irrigation modernization to pave the way to applying irrigation modernization techniques in Menia selected villages.

The modernization of irrigation systems is a continuing process that involves technical and managerial upgrading to improve agriculture productivity. This process aims to increase water-use efficiency, alleviate water scarcity, and reduce operation and maintenance costs.

The modernization of irrigation systems can lead to significant improvements in agricultural productivity, water efficiency, and overall sustainability.
