Cairo, Egypt - The training on "Design, operation and maintenance of greenhouses" was conducted as part of the "Enhancement of Agricultural Productivity " project activities in cooperation with the Regional Training Center for Water Resources and Irrigation “RCTWS”.

The training aimed to enhance the capacities of smallholder farmers in effectively promoting modern greenhouse technologies and practices. The design and layout of small commercial greenhouses, including factors such as site selection, energy conservation, and management practices, are important considerations for successful greenhouse operations.

The FAO also emphasizes the enhancement of agricultural water productivity and the promotion of modern irrigation technologies as part of its projects. The training conducted in cooperation with RCTWS is aligned with these objectives and aims to contribute to the overall enhancement of agricultural productivity.
