EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Working Group on the Compendium of GFCM decisions, including a session on the regional database of national legislations was held on 9–11 December 2015 at FAO headquarters, Rome, Italy. Following the conclusions of the ninth session of the CoC (Milan, Italy, May 2015), this meeting discussed the revision of the GFCM Compendium and made a number of proposals to streamline this document. Furthermore, a set of guidelines on the drafting of GFCM decisions was endorsed. In the context of a session on the regional database of national legislations by the GFCM, progress was evaluated by the Working Group in relation to the development of this knowledge-based tool and the ongoing cooperation with the FAO Legal Office was discussed.
