In the framework of the Global Symposium of Soil Biodiversity (GSOBI 21), the FAO’s Global Soil Partnership (GSP) is launching a Call for Side Events. Side events provide institutions with the opportunity to launch initiatives, promote projects or programmes, and share outputs of common interest in line with the call’s guidelines.

The Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management provide technical and policy recommendations on how sustainable soil management can be achieved. Their successful implementation will pave the way to boosting soil health.

The Global Soil Partnership and the sub-regional FAO office for North Africa are conducting a training workshop on digital soil mapping of salt-affected soils in Tunis, Tunisia. More than 20 representatives from 13 countries of the Near East and North Africa region are attending the workshop.

The GSP Secretariat visited the William's Soil-Agronomic Museum, in Moscow, guided by colleagues from the Timiryazev Academy and accompanied by the representative of the FAOLOR office and the international expert who directs the museum's modernization and refurbishment activities. The needs of the Museum were discussed and a workplan for the next months was agreed between the parties.
