The first draft of the Voluntary Guidelines for Sustainable Soil Management(prepared by the The Intergovernmental Technical Panel on Soils (ITPS), the main advisory body to the Global Soil Partnership) will be finalized by the Open-Ended Working Group and subsequently submitted to the Fifth Global Soil Partnership Plenary Assembly (23-25th May 2016).

If endorsed by the Plenary Assembly, the draft VGSSM will be submitted to the Committee on Agriculture (COAG - 26-30 September 2016) for its review, and if endorsed to the FAO Council in December 2016.
