Following the series of workshops on biodegradable Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) that ISSF has been conducting with the support of FAO, Common Oceans ABNJ Tuna project, in the western Pacific Ocean, a workshop in Zadar (Croatia) was organized. Zadar is homeport of the fleet (fishing masters and first officers), from Caroline Fisheries Corporation (CFC), a purse seine company based in Pohnpei (Federated States of Micronesia).  The document summarizes the results from the workshop that had the objective to promote the use of non-entangling and biodegradable FADs in the fleet and set the protocol to test 100 biodegradable FADs with CFC fleet

Report of the Sixth Project Steering Committee: Sustainable Management of Tuna Fisheries and Biodiversity Conservation in the ABNJ, Rome, Italy, 8-10 July 2019. 

This report summarizes scientific and technical developments undertaken in support of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) Management Strategy Evaluation (MSE) process for yellowfin and bigeye tunas from Sep2017 – Sep2019, an effort supported by the Common Oceans ABNJ Tuna Project. 

This report summarizes activities undertaken under the LOA between December 2018 and the end of April 2019 to meet reporting requirements and close the LOA.

The Tuna Compliance Network (TCN) convened its Third Workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22-24 February 2019. The Workshop focused on procedures to assess compliance in tuna RFMOs and gathered, among others, the officers responsible for compliance of the five tuna RFMOs and all Chairs of the Compliance Committees of these organizations. It was the first time ever that these experts got together.
