Background

INPhO, the Information on Post-harvest Operations, was originally designed by FAO with the support and collaboration of GIZ and CIRAD. The principal objectives of INPhO are to promote good practices in post-harvest activities for a variety of agricultural products, such as grains and cereals, fruit and vegetables, roots and tubers, dairy and livestock products among others and to assist in the creation and expansion of agro-food industries and agribusiness by providing easy access to technical data and information.

The site is currently undergoing changes in its format and content to enhance the presentation and accessibility of the information available. This information resource is managed by the FAO Food and Nutrition Division.

What do we do?

We provide key support on post-harvest technologies and agro-food industries promotion and development to reinforce the capacity of the public and private sector to increase productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural and food sector through value addition, income and employment generation.
