The Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD) and USAID are pleased to invite global development practitioners and researchers to participate in a public meeting on resilience measurement and analysis. The purpose of this public meeting is to share knowledge about theoretical and applied frameworks for resilience measurement and analysis and to identify opportunities to leverage U.S. university research capabilities to support resilience measurement and analysis. This event responds to priorities identified during the BIFAD meeting at the 2017 World Food Prize and the 2017 USAID Resilience Evidence Summit.

The meeting will be held in Washington, DC on May 9, 2018. Participants may join in person and via live-stream. The meeting will be chaired by Dr. Brady Deaton, BIFAD Acting Chair and Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Missouri. The meeting will feature thought leaders on resilience measurement and analysis from USAID, academia and the practitioner community. Speakers include:

• Greg Collins, Director of USAID’s Center for Resilience
• Mark Constas, Associate Professor at Cornell University, and Chair of the Food and Nutrition Security Resilience Measurement Technical Working Group
• Luca Russo, Senior Food Crises Analyst and Strategic Adviser on resilience, FAO
• Marco D’Errico, Lead Econometrician, Resilience Analysis and Policies team, FAO
• Tiffany Griffin, Lead Adviser on Resilience Monitoring, Evaluation and Strategic Analysis, USAID Center for Resilience

Recipients of the 2017 BIFAD Scientific Award for Excellence in a Feed the Future Innovation Lab— Dr. James Beaver, University of Puerto Rico; Dr. Juan Carlos Rosas, Zamorano Panamerican Agricultural University, Honduras; and Mr. Laouali Amadou, University of Maradi, Niger and National Institute of Agricultural Research of Niger—will be honored at the meeting.
