CDAIS inception workshop - Honduras

Key stakeholders gathered in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, to participate in the workshop that officially launched the Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS) project in the country. During the workshop, which lasted for two days (18-19 November 2015), participants identified, and agreed on prioritizing, the value chains of beans, coffee and cocoa to strengthen Honduras' agricultural innovation system.

"It is important to benefit form the established network of producers, the local governments, private sectors, NGOs and academia. These groups generate information, experiences and demans; capture technologies, are involved in research, capacity building, dissemination and impact on agricultural policies" says Maria Julia Cardenas, the FAO Representative in Honduras.

The CDAIS project, funded by the European Union, is allowing the implementation of the TAP Action Plan as well as the validation of the TAP Common Framework at country level. The CDAIS project is jointly implemented by FAO and Agrinatura with activities carried out in eight pilot countries (Angola, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Laos, Rwanda).
