The Global Forum on Food Security and Nutrition “FSN Forum” is an online venue for multi-stakeholder dialogue where policy decisions on food security and nutrition are collectively inspired, developed and linked with practice. FAO is actively collaborating with youth. Just last month at “Mobilizing Generation Zero Hunger”, a high level side event to the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit, the Director General encouraged young people to be the “Zero Hunger Generation” as the SDGs were formally adopted.

Bangkok, Thailand. A new publication launched today is calling for better recognition of indigenous peoples’ rights to shifting cultivation practices in countries of the Asia-Pacific region in order to ensure indigenous people are food-secure in coming years.

Representatives from different indigenous peoples (Aymara, Embera–Wounaan, Guaraní, Kichwa, K’iche, Macushi, Miskita, Náhuatl, Zapoteco) from Latin America shared during two days their knowledge about food security with FAO statisticians to develop new methods that could measure food insecurity in indigenous communities.
