Ubava Mount Club - Youth Mountain Workshop
Short Agenda:
- Organized hike to peak Krstovar 1066.74 m, the summit of mount Vodno starting at 08:30 (one or two trails on which young people will move together with mountain guides, most likely one group from the German Embassy, and another group from the Vodno Police Station)
-Starting at 11:00 a.m., the workshop will begin, which will take place in Dare Dzambaz's hut, and the following topics will be covered:
• Mountain ecosystem services are vital to life
• Healthy mountains matter for biodiversity
• Mountain ecosystems are under threat from pollution
*All the materials will be provided by the organizers, except for those that we will collect during the hike along the trails to peak Krstovar.
International Mountain Day 2023 under the theme restoring mountain ecosystem is the chance to increase awareness of the importance of the mountain ecosystem and the call for natural solutions and best practices that will contribute to the fight against climate change and pollution.
If we increase awareness and the need to protect water, air and soil, flora and fauna by spreading the mountaineering knowledge among young people, the chances of preserving and restoring mountains and mountain eco-systems increase many times over.
Because if we change the youth, we will change the world.
