Seminar: Restoring Mountain Ecosystem
Mountain day was celebrated by presenting seminars and modals prepared by students relevant with the theme of the day. Speaking on the occasion Mohammad Jamal Khan highlighted the importance of mountain and the impact of mountain on the lives of people. Different aspects of mountain particularly the soils and agriculture in mountains regions were discussed. Mountains are the fundamental component of agriculture that is affected by the recent trends in climate change. Farman Ullah highlighted the flora and fauna of mountains regions and its impact on live stock and fisheries. Speaking on the Occasion Dawood Jan Vice Chancellor of the Agriculture University Swat explain in detail the scope of mountain Agriculture, Eco Tourism and Agribusiness in the context of climate change. Dawood Jan also share with the participant about the scholarships offered by the University for the students of mountain regions that will help students to continue higher education which is not possible otherwise because of poverty in the backward area of mountain regions.
