The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2018

For the third year in a row, there has been a rise in world hunger. The absolute number of undernourished people, i.e. those facing chronic food deprivation, has increased to nearly 821 million in 2017, from around 804 million in 2016. These are levels from almost a decade ago. This report monitors progress towards the targets of ending both hunger (SDG Target 2.1) and all forms of malnutrition (SDG Target 2.2), and provides an analysis of the underlying causes and drivers of observed trends.

The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2018

The 2018 edition of The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture emphasizes the sector’s role in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, and measurement of progress towards these goals. Halting the spread of disease and helping livestock farmers in Liberia - TCP/LIR/3504

The project was implemented in response to an outbreak in four counties of Liberia of Pestedes PetitsRuminants(PPR) or Sheep and Goat Plague, a devastating disease affecting small ruminants. A widespread vaccination programme was put in place, awareness raised on ways of stopping the spread of the disease and the resilience of farmers strengthened.
