Explore FAO’s 2020 digital flagship reports in six languages

In 2020, FAO’s flagship ‘The State of the World’ collection was released in a new easy-to-read digital format, providing audiences with a responsive reading experience to discover FAO’s work and dig deeper into the global issues affecting food and agriculture.

Featuring engaging content navigation and improved user experience, the digital edition is optimized across multiple devices, including desktop, tablet and mobile. We invite readers to check out these new device-responsive formats in their preferred languages as the digital editions of all the 2020 flagships are now available in FAO’s six official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).

Moving into the new year, FAO is committed to providing you with compelling and authoritative knowledge via your preferred channels, formats and languages.

Digital editions of ‘The State of the World’ collection

The State of the World's Forests 2020
Launched on 22 May, SOFO 2020 assesses progress to date in meeting global targets and goals related to forest biodiversity and examines the effectiveness of policies, actions and approaches, in terms of both conservation and sustainable development outcomes.

The State of World Fisheries and Aquaculture 2020
Launched on 8 June, SOFIA 2020 takes a look at various aspects of fisheries and aquaculture sustainability, ranging from data and information systems to ocean pollution, product legality, and climate change adaptation.

The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2020  
Launched on 13 July, SOFI 2020 shows that the burden of malnutrition in all its forms continues to be a challenge. Some progress for child stunting, low birthweight and exclusive breastfeeding has been achieved, but at a pace that is still too slow.
