In the heart of a city known as a center for human rights stands Refettorio Geneva, a beautiful, contemporary, and light-filled building that has become a haven for struggling families, single mothers, Ukrainian war refugees, and disadvantaged individuals. Chef El Nagar, believing that food security is a fundamental human right deserving of constitutional protection, mobilized civil society to create a groundbreaking Manifesto. This effort successfully embedded the right to food in the Canton of Geneva's constitution, the first in Europe. Undaunted, Chef El Nagar now aims higher, advocating for the inclusion of the right to food in the European Union Constitution.
