SAVE FOOD: Global Initiative on Food Loss and Waste Reduction

“SAVE FOOD: Appropriate food packaging solutions for developing countries” in its new 2014 edition

01 Jul 2014

Originally published in 2011 by FAO, the study is now available in a revised edition dated 2014. It contains a new section on investment opportunities in developing countries and is also available in Spanish and French.

The study – commissioned to Dr. Nerlita Manalili – was undertaken to serve as a basis for the international congress Save Food! held in conjunction with the international packaging industry fair, Interpack 2011, held in Dusseldorf, (Germany) in May 2011.

Appropriate food packaging solutions highlights the constraints faced by small- and medium-scale food processing industries in developing countries and, specifically, their limited access to affordable and yet adequate packaging materials.
