The Country Programming Framework (CPF) sets out three government priority areas to guide the FAO partnership with and support to the Government of Sri Lanka – bringing together innovative international practices and global standards with national and regional expertise over five years from 2018 to 2022.

The overarching goal of FAO’s programme in Sri Lanka continues to be the reduction of food insecurity, malnutrition and vulnerabilities, and the sustainable management and use of the country’s natural resources.

Meetings / Workshops / Events

01 - 04 September (Bangkok/Thimphu/Colombo)– 35th Session of the FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific to be convened virtually. The Sri Lanka government delegation will participate via virtual mode from the UN Compound in Colombo.

14 September to 05 October (Colombo) – Digital capacity development on food waste prevention and reduction for food services, schools, universities and markets in urban Sri Lanka to be conducted under the Technical Cooperation Project on Innovative Approaches to Reduce, Recycle and Reuse Food Waste. 

29 September – International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste.
