Notes

FAO is developing a series of short trade policy briefs and more detailed trade policy technical notes on issues related to the WTO negotiations on agriculture. The purpose of these briefs is to promote a more informed use of analytical studies related to contemporary trade policy debate and WTO negotiations.

The briefs and technical notes are based on an ongoing series of informal expert consultations convened by FAO.

The trade policy briefs provide a succinct introduction to key policy questions addressed in major recent studies and their main findings. The trade policy briefs also explain the reasons for, and the significance of, differences in the results of recent studies.

The trade policy technical notes provide a detailed discussion of the analytical approaches taken in recent studies and provide suggestions for further research required to fill identified gaps in empirical work.
