Youth-led exchange: Behaviour change for better food systems

16/11/2021

The Education Track of the World Food Forum is launching a series of events tackling the subject of behaviour change for better food systems from different perspectives. Among these events, the Youth-led exchange on behaviour change will open the floor to young people to share their insights and experience on how to lead people towards more sustainable and nutritious food choices. Extending on four weeks from 22nd November to 20th December 2021, the youth-led exchange will take the form of an online forum hosted on Discord.

What is the purpose of this forum?

We first hope to open a space for committed young people to connect with each other and learn about behavioural science and brainstorm on recommendations and good practices to generate behaviour change. Ultimately, the key takeaways of the forum will serve to create a guidance document to help young activists around the world design and implement projects targeting behaviour change.

How can you contribute?

We are looking for students and professionals working in behavioural science to help facilitate the discussions on the forum. On the forum, you will have the role of moderator. Note that even though the  event is planned to last during four weeks, you will be free to decide how much time to invest in it and what days you wish to moderate. The role will be perfect for your if you are:

  • Interested in consumer and producer behaviour and willing to join efforts to build better food systems
  • Eager to share your knowledge with other youth and meet young committed people like yourself
  • Experience in behavioural sciences is not required but will be an asset. MSc or PhD student in behavioural sciences are encouraged to reach out.
