Family Farming and Rural Territorial Development in Latin America and the Caribbean

About the event: The event will start at 13:30 hours with an Opening Statement by the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean (FAORLC), followed by a panel discussion that will include the following representatives:

  • Mr Javier Rodríguez, Secretary of Policy Coordination, Minister of Agriculture, Argentina
  • Hon. Mr. Saboto Caesar, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Transformation of Saint Vincent and Grenadines
  • H.E. Mr. Adrián Zapata, Secretary of the Integrated Rural Development bureau of the Presidency of Guatemala.
  • Mr. Rob Vos, Coordinator, Strategic Objective 3: Reduce rural poverty, and Director, Social Protection Division (ESP)

The panel will be moderated by Ms. Marcela Villareal, Director of the Office for Partnerships, Advocacy and capacity Development (OPC).

The event will last one hour and will close at 14.30 hours. 

FAO’s Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (FAORLC) will be offering a coffee service to the attendees from 14:30 onwards in the Sheikh Zayed Lounge.

PurposeThe side event will showcase FAO's achievements and provide evidence on how the Organization has brought about changes or impacted developing countries and the global community.
