The Instituto de Biodiversidade Agraria e Desenvolvemento Rural (IBADER) is a university-based scientific and technical research institute (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela).

IBADER researchers focus their work on rural areas from a holistic and sustainable perspective, through two major interrelated areas: Environmental (Biodiversity, Territorial Planning and Management, Rural Development, Sustainable Economy, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing) and Agrosystems (Food, Agricultural, Livestock, and Forestry Resources, Soil, Water, and Waste). Since 2005, the institute edit several digital resources, including the scientific journal Recursos Rurais, and some monographs also of scientific character.
