It is part of the international Scientific Electronic Library Online network, which aims to increase the visibility, accessibility, and impact of scientific research produced in Latin America and other regions.
The platform supports the dissemination of high-quality academic publications across multiple disciplines and promotes international standards in scientific publishing, indexing, and digital preservation. SciELO Costa Rica is developed and maintained with the participation of national academic and research institutions, including the University of Costa Rica.
