Scielo Spain is a virtual library comprised of a collection of Spanish scientific journals in the health sciences, selected according to pre-established quality criteria.

The SciELO project is the result of a collaboration between BIREME (Centro Latinoamericano y del Caribe de información en Ciencias de la Salud) and FAPESP (Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo). In Spain, it is being developed by the Biblioteca Nacional de Ciencias de la Salud, thanks to a collaboration agreement established between OPS/OMS and the Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
