The National Institute for Fisheries Research (original name: Instituto Nacional de Investigação Pesqueira – INIP) is a government research institution in Mozambique. It conducts scientific studies on fisheries, marine ecosystems, and aquaculture to support the sustainable management of fishery resources. The institute provides research data and advice to the government to help protect marine life and improve the fishing sector. It is mainly based in Maputo and plays an important role in the development and conservation of Mozambique’s coastal and marine resources.
