The Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo Pesquero (INIDEP) advises the Undersecretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Nation (SSPyA), the Federal Fisheries Council (CFP) and the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the rational use of fisheries resources with the aim of preserving the marine ecosystem for future generations. Missions and functions are to formulate, implement and control research projects in prospecting, assessment and development of fisheries, aquaculture technologies, fishing gear, technological processes and fisheries economy, in accordance with the guidelines and priorities established by the implementing authority.
