The Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (Université Assane‑Seck de Ziguinchor, UASZ) is a public institution of higher education and research located in Ziguinchor, in the Casamance region of Senegal. It was pedagogically opened in February 2007 and was later renamed in 2013 in honour of the Senegalese scholar and politician Assane Seck. The Université Assane‑Seck de Ziguinchor (UASZ) comprises several faculties (Unités de Formation et de Recherche) in fields such as Sciences and Technology, Economic and Social Sciences, Letters, Arts and Human Sciences, and Health Sciences, as well as doctoral schools and multiple research laboratories. Its mission is to provide high‑level academic programmes, promote scientific research, and contribute to the regional, national, and sub‑regional development of Senegal by training graduates capable of responding to societal and economic challenges. The Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (Université Assane‑Seck de Ziguinchor) also engages in research collaborations and international academic partnerships while supporting the cultural and scientific vitality of the Casamance region.
