The University of Hormozgan was founded in 1991 in the port city of Bandar Abbas on Iran’s southern coast, close to where the straits of Hormoz bring the Persian Gulf to its narrowest point. The University of Hormozgan was founded in 1991 and started activity by launching 6 undergraduate courses (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematical Secretary, Physics Secretary, and Persian Literature Secretary). The university currently has about 6000 students in different educational levels (40 BSc, 71 MSc, and 32 PhD programs).
