The University of Valparaiso (UV) is a public university, established in 1981. The origin of the University of Valparaíso dates back to the first half of the last century, with the founding schools of the institution, namely: the Fiscal Course of Law in 1911, Nursing in 1933, Social Work in 1945, Marine Biology in 1953, the Institute of Basic Sciences in 1954, Dentistry in 1955, Obstetrics in 1955.
