Yakut Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences is one of the leading centers in the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, where more than half of the scientific potential of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is concentrated. The development of academic science in Yakutia was due to the poor study of the natural environment, life and culture of the peoples living on its territory.
A major contribution to the development of academic science in Yakutia was made by the comprehensive expeditionary research organized by the USSR Academy of Sciences.
