The Research Center for Animal Improvement in Tropical Livestock (CIMAGT) was founded in 1970 under the name Animal Reproduction Research Center (CIRA). Its objective was to establish a research center focused on animal reproduction to provide technical support for the nationwide artificial insemination program being carried out across all species.
