AGRIS Launches New Interface with Functionalities Including Personal Pages for Data Providers

04/12/2019

The International Information System for Agricultural Science and Technology(AGRIS) is constantly working on providing updates to improve the overall experience using the platform for both data providers and users. With that in mind, the AGRIS team is thrilled to announce the launch of a new AGRIS Interface, which includes new functionalities including personal pages for data providers.

This new functionality makes it possible for data providers to access their personal, unique collection of data on their own individual page within AGRIS. This personal page has a specific URL attached, which allows data providers the new ability to embed their individual page from AGRIS into their respective websites. This new functionality will allow data providers the opportunity to increase visibility of their personal data.

Data providers can access their personal pages by visiting the AGRIS homepage and under the “AGRIS Data Providers” section, select the provider’s country via the dropdown menu. Once the country has been selected, all of the data providers from the particular country will appear in the dropdown menu next to the country selection. From there, the data providers can select their personal institution and hit “view profile” and they will be directed to their individual page.

Data providers can also access their personal pages by visiting the AGRIS homepage and clicking on the “show data provider list” option, which will display all data providers in alphabetical order by country. From there, data providers can click on their personal institution and they will be directed to their individual page.

Once a data provider has arrived to their personal page, the visible URL is the permanent URL, which gives the data provider the ability to embed into their personal website, bookmark, etc.

Please find a video tutorial about how to access these pages below.

The new AGRIS interface comes on the heels of the announcement of the new AGRIS Open Data Set Initiative, which will provide great opportunity to increase analysis of agricultural performance through the use of open data, and consequently help inform agricultural investment, innovation and policy to drive changes toward increasing sustainability in the agricultural sector, which matches the goal of living in a world with zero hunger.
