The AGRIS team is thrilled to announce that today, 77,756 additional records from 17 data providers representing 13 countries have been published in the International Information System for the Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS). AGRIS now boasts 11,714,169 total records.

In a world where the need for access and understanding of open data and data management becomes increasingly more important for food security and nutrition, the FAO Scientific Information and Digital Data for Innovation team behind AGRIS is thrilled to continue to provide access to nearly 12 million bibliographic records. 

In December of 2019, AGRIS launched a new interface, which includes new functionalities such as personal pages for data providers and updated search functionalities. This new functionality makes it possible for data providers to access their personal, unique collection of data on their own individual page within AGRIS. On the homepage of AGRIS, the new search functionalities now allow the user to refine the search by selecting the language and resource type. Within the search results, users now have the ability to refine the search even more with filters including the publication date, the ability to search for data from particular data providers and the possibility to filter records which have a full text link available.

In November of 2019, AGRIS launched the Open Data Set Initiative, which will provide great opportunity to increase analysis of agricultural performance through the use of open data, and consequently help inform agricultural investment, innovation and policy to drive changes toward increasing sustainability in the agricultural sector, which matches the goal of living in a world with zero hunger.
