The Inland Fisheries Directorate (Direction de la Pêche Continentale, DPC) is a governmental directorate under the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy of Senegal. The Direction de la Pêche Continentale (DPC) is responsible for the management, regulation, and development of freshwater fisheries in lakes, rivers, and other inland water bodies across Senegal. Its functions include monitoring fish stocks, implementing sustainable fishing practices, regulating fishing activities, supporting aquaculture, and providing technical assistance to local fishing communities. The Inland Fisheries Directorate (Direction de la Pêche Continentale) also participates in research and national programs aimed at conserving aquatic biodiversity, enhancing food security, and promoting economic development in the inland fisheries sector.
